Teacher: Room 102

Dear Families in Room 102,

Now that I am officially going to be teaching your little ones for the remainder of the school year, I thought you would appreciate knowing a little more about me, especially for those of you who I just became acquainted with since beginning this sub position. I am so sad to not have the amazing Mrs. Schubloom return to room 102, as I am sure you are as well, but I wanted you to know that I am determined to give your little ones a fun filled and positive remainder to their last year as preschoolers. Thank you for trusting in me to do this!

A little bit about me… I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a Pre-primary emphasis (children ages 3-5) from the University of St Catherine, in St Paul, MN. In addition to this, I also have a S.T.E.M. (science, technology, engineering, and math) certification. Prior to Carol being born, I taught Kindergarten for three years at the Cannon River STEM School in Faribault, MN. I really enjoyed teaching that age, but I made the decision to stay at home when Carol was born. When I left that position I knew if I ever returned to teaching it would be at the preschool level as that was my
emphasis in college and I truly love this age! Little did I know this opportunity would come to me this year!

For the last two years I have been an instructor at a local gym, Hellbent Fitness, and have enjoyed teaching early morning strength and metabolic conditioning classes to adults. This position has been a newly discovered passion of mine, which is also why I cannot teach the kiddos on Tuesdays.

I grew up in Missoula, Montana, but when I met my husband Ryan, a native Minnesotan, and also a teacher, I chose to transfer colleges and move to the wonderful Midwest! Carol is our only child along with our new puppy, Hank. As a household of teachers, we enjoy having the summer free and spend most of it in Montana visiting my family and friends and soaking up the Mountain air. We are a very active family and spend most of our free time enjoying the outdoors whenever possible! We love biking, hiking, and exploring everything our surroundings have to offer!

As a former teacher, I truly believe that the success of each student involves a solid connection between school and home, therefore I always prioritized parent communication when I was teaching Kindergarten and I will continue this as your child’s preschool teacher. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me (email, text, or call) for the remainder of this school year with any questions or concerns. I will strive to keep you informed and involved in this experience. Thank you again for trusting me to step in for Mrs. Schubloom. I am deeply invested in providing the best experience that I can for your children!
